Positive Behavior
During each week, your group table will compete against your other class tables in a friendly competition for prizes/rewards.

How do we earn points? Each day, your table will have a chance to "win the day". Your table can "win the day" by participating, showing up to class on time, having your work done like your daily quizzes and focus questions, being on task, and supporting positive behavior.
How do we earn rewards/prizes? The table with the most wins throughout the week will "win the week". For each week you win, you can "cash in" for specified prizes or "bank" your wins. The more weeks you win, the greater the reward/prize you can receive. Once you "cash in" you start over. The table with the most wins at the end of the 9 weeks will win a special reward. The contest will restart every 9 weeks.

Teacher reserves the right to change the PBIS format of the classroom with little to no notice. Prize's fluctuate

"LOL, OMG!"
-
Upon entering my class, your cell phone should be silenced or turned off AND put away.
-
In our class by my desk I have a cell phone charging station / holding station (Bring your own charger) that you are more than welcomed to use. If you are going to be tempted to use it during class, put it here. Otherwise, your phone is expected to be out of sight.

"Be Respectful"
We all have our bad days, myself included. However having a bad day is no excuse to be disrespectful.
I expect you to notify me if you are having an off day that way I can help situate you into a classroom learning environment that will be most conducive to your learning mood.
I will still expect you to participate and complete my tasks however I will help you the best I can to deescalate whatever situation you are going through.

Responsible use!
We live in an age of instant communication and knowledge. Education is no exception to this as computers have become an integral part of our curriculum because it provides a deeper level of learning interaction and efficiency with lessons, grades, note taking and research. Not to mention, a lot of the professional world is digital.

However, there is a proper way to use a school computer. School computers are property of the Flagler School District and monitored. They are not personal and privatized.
Negative Behavior
NON Classroom
Disruptive Behavior
is when a student is independently doing something that is off task and not disrupting the classroom learning environment. This can include being on your phone during direct instruction and sleeping in class.
The teacher(s) will do everything within their ability to redirect and intervene prior to one of the consequences.
Failure to correct behavior may result in:
-
Skyward Documentation
-
Parent/Guardian contact via EMAIL
-
No teacher support or help on assignment
-
Assignment(s) due by deadline, no exception.

Behavior Tracking System
Through Skyward, if a behavior problem does exist, there will be documentation and attempts to correct it. My primary method of communication is EMAIL unless the behavior warrants a phone call home. Here is a way to check our behavior logs on Skyward.

My job is to ensure you have a positive, fun and safe interaction while in my classroom.
