Your Safety is paramount!

-
Nothing is more important than your safety at Flagler Palm Coast High School.
-
As a teacher, it is especially important that each student has a clear understanding of what the policies and procedures are in the event of an emergency.
-
Drills are practices and rehearsed for maximum efficiency in the event a real situation occurs.

Fire Drill / Emergency

Our room is upstairs. Students will follow the arrow to the nearest stairwell and exit the 700 building near the courtyard. Students will then cross the side parking lot to the teen center parking lot which is left of the teen center. The students will meet at the second row of parking spots where attendance is taken. Disciplinary action will be taken for any student who uses this as an opportunity to skip.
-
What if I am away from class during a fire alarm? If the student is in the same area / building, the student will follow procedures and then meet the class in the specified spot. If the student is in a different part of the school, the student will follow procedures and then meet up with the nearest teacher will inform them of the situation.
-
How do I know if I should evacuate the building? Please consult with your teacher(s) on the proper school policies and procedures for fire alarms to eliminate any confusion.

Lockdown / Active Shooter

Lockdowns can be a scary time, especially with recent events. Rest assured, that the faculty and staff at Flagler Palm Coast High School are prepared, as best we can, for such occurrences.
Unfortunately, due safety of our school and those in it, no such policies/procedures will be discussed here. Each student needs to make sure they understand the classroom policies and procedures in their classrooms to eliminate any state of confusion should a situation arise.

Mental Health / Sickness

Mental Health is important. If you cannot think clearly, you cannot operate clearly. I'm okay with you taking a mental health day to relax and refocus so long as you communicate with your teachers and your family is on board with you staying home.

If you are sick please stay home. Your health comes first. Do not risk getting other students or myself sick. Communicate with your teachers if you are going to stay home.
