
Plagiarism / Cheating
Plagiarism is the use of another's ideas or expression without explicit consent and/or appropriate acknowledgement of the source. Cheating is an act of dishonesty or unfairly in order to gain an advantage.

What happens if I get caught cheating? According to the Flagler County School Secondary Code of Student Conduct, cheating and plagiarism is considered a level 2 disciplinary offense. This can be found on page 17. In addition, the following consequences can be found on Page 37. I take cheating very seriously due to the amount of time, patience, and effort it takes to create a formative and summative assessment. In addition, students are given ample warnings prior to getting to disciplinary consequences.

2 common form of plagiarism/cheating:
Formative - Handing your work to someone else / taking a picture of your work and sending it to someone else to copy off of.
This will result in BOTH people receiving consequences.
Summative - Having your phone out while taking a test or talking while taking a test. This includes talking to another classmate,
regardless if you are done or not.
